“My art is a culmination of many aspects of my life. Growing up with an artistic mother helped me to see art in many different mediums and environments. I use memories, family, travel, and dreams together to create, in fabric and thread, a mosaic of a time and place. My personal love of travel put me on this textile journey of self-discovery and passion that fills my life. Walking around Siena Italy I saw two elderly women on a cobbled lane which immediately hit my artists’ eye. I didn’t know then that a year later that image would come to life using bits of fabric and thread to “paint” it. Knowing I can recreate my own visions, as well as the experiences of others, allows me to project my artisan abilities in a new and unique way. My motivation is to bring it back in an exciting personal way.”

I took the picture to the right of two lovely ladies holding hands in Siena, Italy. It was the inspiration for me to take my artistry down the path of using fabric as paint, and is my first creation.
